Pelvic floor

**DIGITAL FILE**

• This childbirth preparation illustration is a downloadable PDF file that you can print out or keep on your phone as a handy reference.

The "Pelvic Floor" illustration offers an anatomical view of the pelvis and pelvic floor, focusing on the key muscles involved in pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
It primarily features the bony structures (ischial tuberosities, sacrum, coccyx, etc.) and the perineal muscles (both superficial and deep).

The pelvic floor plays a vital role during pregnancy, adapting to support not only the internal organs but also the baby—whose weight and pressure increase significantly over time!
In the postpartum period, it is crucial to give this area special attention after all that extraordinary exertion!

This illustration serves as a practical, clear visual aid to help you (or your clients) visualize this often-misunderstood area.

Why this tool?
Because a better understanding of the body leads to a better understanding of the physiological processes of the prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods—and a clearer picture of what is actually happening in the body during these stages (as well as why caring for the pelvic floor after pregnancy is so important!).

It is also a useful resource for midwives, doulas, and other perinatal professionals looking to provide their clients with tools for visualization and self-awareness.
